Sequencer triggering from MIDI clips in VCV Rack 2 Pro

Hello everyone!

I’m using VCV Rack 2 Pro inside Ableton Live and I’m having trouble triggering sequencers from MIDI clips. I can run it by play with no issues but I need to run and stop it for a arrangement in session.

Is there a recommended way to stop a sequencer from a MIDI clip?

That proved a little harder than I thought, but you can do that via Clip Envelopes.

Put a comparator (I used Venom WinComp) before the sequencer, run a cable from A>B to the Run input on the sequencer. Now add the A offset to the plugin configuration in Live and edit the clips automation envelope for that. I found I had to give it a little time at the end to reach the necessary value, it does not like a jump to zero for some reason.

A visual aid:

This is most likely overly complicated. I would be interested in a cleaner solution myself.

EDIT: This is for a non looping clip of course. If you need it looping, you could have one looping one without, and this identical one with the automation that you trigger as needed, I suppose.

Thanks for your reply. But it seems to be complicated for me… how can I just stop a sequencer in easy way ?
