pfig's music releases

It’s release day!

This is my 2nd EP, and first release in 10 years! Everything you hear in it is made with VCV (with the help of a tape machine in some places). Mixed and recorded in VCV, with some very light mastering in Ozone.

A longer blog post to go with it can be found here.

Edit: It’s so obvious that I forgot to say it, but this wouldn’t have happened without Andrew / the VCV team and all of you here - thank you!

I once went out with a woman from Arizona.

This EP been haunting me for 1 year - I wanted to write some stories to go with the music. I didn’t want to go near those memories, though. In the end, the music is more important.

Even though they are all part of an arc, I released the first three tracks on their own, before (one for VCP-26). But they always belonged together - so here they are.

This was made in VCV Rack, with some piano providing textures to sample. All the tracks started from a feedback network and a cloud of resonators, which I then carved up. I recorded the stereo mix from VCV, and touched it up in Ozone.

I hope you like it.
