I’ve just released my first VCV module, the Ogham (pronounced “Oh-am” - it’s an Irish celtic word) dual bytebeat exploration module. It’s free and open source (MIT), and is under my Keeos label.
A quick summary of features:
- Playback 2 mono 8-bit bytebeats, taken from a custom library of 100 functions, grouped by type
- End of cycle and envelope follower outputs for connecting to other modules.
- Sync CV in (to reset bytebeat playback) and playback clock CV control with a V/Oct option.
- Control over parameters A and B of the bytebeat functions, with CV control.
- A tone control that varies from an aggressive wavefolder to a resonant bit-crusher (in case the bytebeats weren’t already noisy enough!)
- A simple, 1 level, menu system accessed from the encoder giving access to a simple 3 stage FX pipeline (Chorus, Flanger, Phaser) as well as various playback options.

I know it’s not the first bytebeat module out there, but as a long time bytebeat fan, I’d love to hear if people find this fun or useful.
