I never used large vocal WAV files to add a layer to my VCV tune. But even this day has come…
Could you please advise any module that allows using one large WAV file, allows marking multiple start points, and playing the next section on an incoming trigger?
cfPlayer is almost good but I have trouble finding the right start positions. I clearly would like to avoid chopping the large WAV into multiple files. And I’d like to keep the workflow completely in VCV.
I use a bunch of Sickozell modules and I was eyeing with sickoSampler and sickoSampler2 but I couldn’t make it work the way I described. Is keySampler very different? Do you use any of these modules in this context?
I’m only just learning it. I think it can load any sample into a slot and save slot and parameters such as start, and output to use, to a CV key. But I haven’t tried it polyphonic yet, or that much. I’m playing with drums at the moment.
You might like PHASE from my SignalFunctionSet plugin. It is a dual sample player with a few unique tricks. For your purpose specifically, it does support trigger in to advance the next cue point. Cue points read from WAV Cue points if present and automatically detects transients if not. Additionally, you have control over playback speed/direction, panning and more.
This one is an amazing module indeed! I’ve just started to experiment with it. Even if I fail with the vocal project, finding PHASE is a clear win… it is very nice!
