@jeremy If I set the “Scale” knob to “None” (e.g. in AbcdSeq or 8Seq), does it still quantize somehow if I press the Random CV/Note button? The values I’m seeing look like CVs for, at least, a chromatic scale. I was expecting completely random values (within the set Range and Octave), especially because “Scale” already has a separate setting for “Chromatic”. Really random, unquantized values would be nice if you want to quantize afterwards to custom scales (e.g. microtonal stuff).
None does chromatic. I don’t remember why. I think it makes sense for the standalone quantizer but not when its built in. It probably should really be none and just return the same random value as passed in for built in quantizers.
Edit: I will try to fix it soon since I want to fix something else too in my sequencers.
Edit: Should the root note and octave still apply or just have ‘none’ ignore those?
Edit: I guess octave applies and still works because you can set it to zero and the range to max for example.
Edit: fix submitted thanks!
Great, that was fast! Yes, I agree, octave and range still make sense for “None” if you want to limit the random values to a certain CV interval. Thank you! ![]()
fix should be released
Yes, already downloaded. Thank you again for your fast response!
added outputs per row in AbcdSeq as suggested by Sparvnätter @SpaceTraffic
Amazing! abcdseq in meta - who could possible ask for more!?
More updates on the meta module port! AbcdSeq is fixed and works now with a firmware update!

more on the 4ms forum:
how do you do that without custom drawing?
v2.0-dev firmware supports drawing GitHub - 4ms/metamodule-plugin-sdk: SDK for building MetaModule Plugins
update for jwmodules for the metamodule - all modules should now load and mostly work.
They are awesome!
hey @jeremy. I’m thinking of making a variable width module. Yours are the only ones I know of that do that. Do they all use the same code for that, or is there one in particular I should look at to steal ideas from?
I got my code from the core vcv blank
You might take a look at how I did it a while ago in pachde1 (also based on the Rack blank):
These are the resizable module base class and handle widgets:.
You can see how they’re applied in the Null module.
Started releasing music to streaming services last night. I decided to F official arrangements and just release modular recordings.
My modules are officially available for the 4ms MetaModule on their website!
