Is there a module that outputs a CV of an audio signal's amplitude?

I’m trying to start and stop a recording when an audio signal is 0 or close to 0 to minimize popping. Is there a module that will output a CV of the RMS value for an audio signal?

perhaps you are looking seme kind of comparator, omri have a tutorial about it (hopefully you can find your desired comparator there)

Thanks! The envelope follower is exactly what I am looking for! And yes, I’d be using a comparator after the envelope follower. Thanks for all of the help guys!

I would throw in some kind of delay that would have it ignore short pauses.

Also one that starts the recording a split second before everything else.
