How to synthesize Percussion?

Good day folks!

I’ve been scouring the internet trying to find out how to add weird unnatural percussion to my patches. Found lots of stuff on how to emulate an 808 kick, make hihats out of noise, etc…

What I’m looking for is something like the physical module Plonk or some way to achieve the sounds that come out of it. Took a look at Audibles Resonator but that still isn’t what I’m looking for.

Any direction or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply ablaut!

Looked into Trummor but it’s still just sine/triangle/noise modulation. Looking for physical modeling kind of stuff with exciters and resonators.

Give this a try :

I personally found Modal synthesizer very useful then it comes to percussion area too.

Thanks folks! I’ll definitely be checking it out.

I think the macro modulators from audible instruments has some basic physical modeling (at least some bowed / karplus strong style.)

I think currently the Elements is the most obvious choice in VCV. Plonk is based off Chromophone. I do remember Really liking the VST version. You could run that in ‘Host’ as a paid option.I am also interested in the further developments of Physical Modeling. Maybe MI will make a Elements V2 this year ?
