Thanks. This approach probably would not accomplish what I want. I would imagine that the library build toolchain does this to get the panel image per module that will go in the library. That image appears to be the browser panel view which in my case is a composite of the PNG and the Rack rendering of my module knobs, lights and ports.
If I am wrong, please let me know.
