I just wanted to share a little albeit niche utility I threw together for myself in case it’s useful for other ES-8 owners. It’s a module that acts as a VCV audio device, but also incorporates calibration for all ins/outs (useful if you’re using it for precise v/oct duties). It saves the calibration globally so you don’t need to manually load calibration for new patches, but that assumes you only have one ES-8. It also helps my caveman brain to see the ins/outs aligned in the same way as hardware.

I’ll maybe reach out to Oz and see if he’s interested (I’ve forked from his branch), if not need to be careful not to use expert sleepers branding etc. As for the other ES versions, I have no way to test? I mainly just wanted to throw something together for my specific use case, and part of the reticence to submit to library is dealing with feature requests, bug requests, etc - basically just becomes a bigger job!
In the meantime, everyone who wants can use already though, the release is available for all platforms downloadable in the original link.
hi, I am just now testing this module you made and I just get ‘NO ES-8: RIGHT-CLICK’ and when I do I cant choose a device, But if I use a regular AUDIO16 , I can choose my es-8 and it works fine, on Win11, Any idea if I am doing something wrong or what could cause this ?? greetings
It’s probably a device filtering thing (too strict on my side) - what name does it appear as in the drop down menu? It currently requires “ES-8” and the set number of inputs/outputs
If I remember correctly, it just said empty or none or something.. not connected atm, cant check… It works when I just use the audio16 from vcv itself.. dunno why. But its cool, I liked the interface of the real es-8 but Its just looks in the end , and maybe the calibration thing. grts
