dead clock modules when sharing sessions

Hi. i’m trying to trade sessions with a friend. we have identical new mac laptops os12.3 and VCV 2.2.0

when i send him a session, it opens without error but the clock functionality is dead. adding a new / different clock = still dead.

i can’t be alone in experiencing this. please drop some science on me if you can shed any light upon this issue.

Clocks won’t run if they haven’t selected a valid driver and device in the Audio module

Yeah, the issue is that the names of their audio devices are probably just different enough from yours, so when they open the patch the audio output in VCV defaults to None. When there’s no audio device, none of the modules pass voltages between them.

I think just about all of us have scratched our heads at a dead patch for this same reason at one point or another.
