Chinenual Development Thread

Awesome, I should be able to check this out a little later - thank you @Chinenual

Could this be the same problem that was causing a crash on chord input cable connect?

Argh. I’m not sure – address sanitizer is happy, but i didn’t actually test with an LFO after enabling the sanitizer. I’ll reopen the bug and report back once I have a chance to test and fix.

(boo!)

OK - I was able to make it die by feeding a large voltage into the NoteMeter (sigh).

Hurray for the address-sanitizer. I’ll try to throw more weird test cases at it so I can find any other lurking bugs - expect a fix tomorrow.

OK - both Tint and NoteMeter are now tested and work with inputs in the full +/-10V/oct input ranges.

I believe it is now safe for general use - let me know if you disagree!

I can confirm that the crash on connecting BGA LLFO to Tint melody input is solved with this beta release.

I can’t get these guys to load up in my module browser! I moved the file into my Plugins folder and it unzipped and all but Tint does not appear. :frowning:

Mmmm. That’s a new one for me. So you can see my other modules (MIDIRecorder, MIDIRecorderCC, DrumMap and NoteMeter) but not Tint!?

Can you send me your ..../Rack2/log.txt file? Perhaps there’s a clue there…

In fact none of them showed up. I suspect this a problem with something besides your plugin - but here’s the log:

log.txt (131.0 KB)

You may need to subscribe to the Chinenual plugin in the VCV library.

That’s funny, I specifically un-subscribed so it wouldn’t interfere with the beta

Yeah, I get confused, but I am subscribed to the plugin and I can see the beta modules in the browser, so…

I don’t think you have to subscribe (at least it didn’t used to be the case that you did - I was able to see my first modules in the browser before they were officially available in the library.

I don’t see anything odd in the log. It loads the plugin and I don’t see any errors. Can anyone else think of ways to diagnose this?

[0.411 info src/plugin.cpp:171 loadPlugin] Loading plugin from C:/Users/stran/Documents/Rack2/plugins/Chinenual-VCV
[0.427 info src/plugin.cpp:242 loadPlugin] Loaded Chinenual-VCV 2.4.1-beta2

You are probably right, but I end up trial and error to get various plugins and modules to show up and I usually do not understand exactly what solves the problem in all cases.

Check in your plugins folder that you have the Chinenual-VCV folder and the plugin.json file has the correct plugin version and the modules listed and the dates look correct on the files…

I got the beta up and running; it appears to be producing unauthorized voltages, as depicted below

So good news and bad news. Glad you got things working. I’ll investigate what’s going on.

Thank you!

That is very strange. I get the same behavior as you with that patch. But I have not seen it behave like this at all until just now even though I have played with Tint in many patches. Oh, I have not played with the Tint quantize mode. Yeah, looks like quantize is not working at all.
