Best MIDI Controller for VCV 200$ - 400$?

Looks a little expensive for my tastes.

Said to be released late March.Cost showing $450 US 399 Euro I believe

The link above to the arturia site conforms that pricing. Don’t get me wrong, I can imagine a niche for it but for the VCV user I’m not getting it. Don’t we have loads of sequencers?

Yeah i agree with you, it’s more oriented to live performance with hardware i think, yet an amazing product !

If that’s what you do though, what an incredible tool. Arturia goes from strength to strength in the last few years.

I’m stll new at this game. I have no “controller” but have been looking. Looks like it covers a lot of ground. Lol, still do not understand most of what is posted here. I took off time with VCV Rack when I bought my 1st guitar some 14 months ago. Back at it again.

after watching the NAMM 2020 sonicstate video I think it will possible to control from VCV Rack 12 cv outputs (4 pitch + 4 gate + 4 assignable) with this device…if it works as the keystep/beatstep-pro…

Hi everyone and hi ferpont. It’s my first post here. I’ve just came across your post, googling the answer as I am dealing with fairly similar issue (“jumping” knob values while trying to utilize nanoKONTROL2 as a MIDI controller for VCV, on Linux). Have you had any luck with finding the solution?

Not sure if this was mentioned on the forum yet, but this thing seems pretty cool: https://16n-faderbank.github.io/ Bunch of faders, no knobs unfortunately, can use midi or cv outs, and you can build yourself. Or just pay a little over $200 and get one pre-built like this one: https://reverb.com/item/30779159-16n-faderbank-berlin-edition-black?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn7KP6a2k5wIVTtbACh20-QowEAQYAiABEgJm2vD_BwE&merchant_id=128907583&pla=1&utm_campaign=2058704052&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google

There´s a modular version too: https://www.tesseractmodular.com/eurorack-modules/sweet-sixteen and less expensive: https://www.tesseractmodular.com/prices

I’m developing my own set of generic modular physical devices that can be customized to become MIDI controllers… I would love to know what you guys think of these: https://www.instagram.com/articainstruments/ In the meanwhile there are more modules to be released.

Faders are just “stretched out knobs” as you can build it yourself

Really like this (except for the smd) especially when it became clear to me how you can add the mux to the back of the pack of strips. T32 looks interesting.

A strip with 4 thumbsticks would be nice,

Ingo

yes! thumbsticks and more goodies are on the way!

So any conclusions on the Arturia Min Labs mk II? Seems like with the software you can set it up to send VCV friendly MIDI. I’d like to program the pads and the knobs to send cc 0/127 so I can use them all for VCV MidiMap sources. The Novation looks like you can re-program everything? They are pretty vague other than “use the setting and it works great with Ableton”.

I always think that midi is midi and with the fundamental modules or stoermelder ones you can map a controller very easily… Where do your doubts come from?
