I’ve been trying to integrate VCV into a hybrid hardware/software environment with hardware synthetizers & effects, while doing all the mixing inside VCV.
Doing so requires to do “manual latency compensation”, to have all the sound inside VCV in sync with external gear, for which I use AS signal delay with success.
The weird thing I noticed is that the roundtrip, which I measured by sending a trig to an output->input from my soundcard is way higher than it should be. I use 256 samples buffer which should be 5.3ms latency, and 10.6ms roundtrip, but the real latency I measured was around 29ms… Is there a technical reason for that ?
