Are there any ways to connect a device like this to VCV/pro ?

So, I purchased a USB food pedal second hand with the intention of somehow utilizing it for audio creation / manipulation. It was built with the intended purpose of being used for dictation/transcription (I presume in a legal setting or similar). Currently the most I’ve managed to get out of it, using some old relevant software I managed to dig up: I can assign either of the two pedals to a keyboard shortcut (multiple keys simultaneously), or mouse clicks.
Whilst not useless, it would be much more useful if there was a solution for it to somehow output MIDI (or perhaps even if there is a module that allows for keyboard shortcuts as a performance based interactive element).

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. Here’s a link to the product:

some dude explaining its software/hotkey stuff:

Hi Welcome to our community!

You could try Stroke by Stoermelder:

It converts any shortcut key into a function.

You could also experiment with 8Face or Transit (also by Stoermelder) with this, so you can create custum parameter/presets control with a gate or trigger. All modules have a clear manual on their resp website.

Hope this helps!

ah ! thankyou, I was just learning of Stoermelder modules and their extra connectivity functions over the last few days… this looks totally viable

and also thankyou for the kind welcome :dizzy:

From your description it sounds like it’s a simple on/off switch, so probably not very useful for music.

The Sustain pedal that came with my digital piano is just an on-off switch. It’s useful (but not nearly as nice as a continuous sustain pedal).

It can be very useful. If playing into a looper, it is invaluable for entering loops.
