Of course, I suppose one could take the Y output of this module and run it through my Ov3rCross crossover module to split it into three zones, then pitch each to it’s own range, obviating the need for another module. (Though it would still not be great for sliding between non-same-note in octaves)
Thank you for these modules, your responsiveness and openness. It is very much appreciated.
If you want continuous access to a wide range, then an expandable module seems ideal, along with control over the range, transposition up/down, and perhaps a sort of ‘zoom’ so you could Zoom out for a huge slide, and zoom in for microtonal madness.
Most of these are covered in the existing module, and the on-screen “keys” are just guides so someone could do microtonal (unless “snapping” is on), but I do think a key-combo that would temporarily zoom in/out of the pad area might be an interesting option. Thanks for this discussion.
And I’m considering CRB Vi XL, which would be bigger, allowing more space for some other interesting controls, like an LFO for vibrato/tremolo whilst playing.
2.0.7 is now in the library
acModules
- C|RB Vi XL: An eXtra-Large version of the C|RB virtual ribbon controller! Incorporating some of the thoughts in this thread (wider with up to 5 octaves selectable and easily accessible [@contemporaryinsanity], quartertone display and snapping) and some of my own personal wants (mono or poly modulation input for vibrato and tremolo [pitch and volume]).
- C|RB Vi: added the quartertone options
- C|RB Vi & XL: updated the first input curve (exponential ease-in) to be more consistent at the upper-end of the range; added the missing corner screws; visual tweaks
- CFor2N2ForC: visual tweak (my borders weren’t the right thickness. For shame!)
Note: Still working on getting the docs for C|RB modules posted, but you’ll find the new snapping/guide options are in the context-menu.
Thanks everyone for the ongoing feedback and ideas! Have fun!
